"Cycles of Statements and Erasure (Beijing)", UV printed aluminum on cast concrete panels in powder coated aluminum frames, 16"x 20" each, 2024
This series of work began with images made in a Beijing hutong (walled neighborhood) in the 2010s. Statements of individual advocacy, written on chalk on the historic walls, were constantly being wiped off by a presumed authority. The walls then became a kind of mediated historical surface, defined by a constant circulation of personal voice and authoritarian erasure.
